EASIEST METHOD
Open BVMatanga-Symbol-Guide.html in a browser. Use a symbol's Copy character
button, paste into your document, and apply BVMatanga Regular or Bold.
If a browser prevents clipboard access, select the character in the card's
text box and copy it manually.

MICROSOFT WORD ON WINDOWS
Type E000, select those four characters, then press Alt+X. Apply BVMatanga.
Use E001, E002 or E003 for the other illustrations. These are hexadecimal
Unicode codes, not ordinary decimal Alt-key shortcuts. Alt+X is application
specific and is not a universal system-wide shortcut.

LAYOUT AND DESIGN APPLICATIONS
Select BVMatanga in the application's Glyphs or Insert Symbol panel and find
the U+E000–U+E003 Private Use Area entries. You can also paste from the guide.
The characters are available in both Regular and Bold. No letters, digits or
punctuation have been replaced. No special keyboard or ligature is required.

WEBSITES
Use webfonts/BVMatanga.css and its two WOFF2 files. HTML character references:
Emblem: &#xE000;   Elephant with veena: &#xE001;
Matangi: &#xE002;  Standing Matanga: &#xE003;
Example: <span class="bv-symbol" role="img" aria-label="Matangi">&#xE002;</span>
Keep an accessible text label for meaningful imagery. Decorative symbols can
use aria-hidden="true". Private-use characters have no standard spoken name.
The CSS font-size controls symbol height; natural widths differ substantially.
The veena illustration is wide. Do not force every symbol into a square.

DESIGN NOTES
Symbols use monochrome outlines and inherit the text colour. White areas are
open/transparent, not white rectangles. Text effects may alter that appearance.
The full landscape is retained in the standing Matanga symbol.
Artwork is identical in both weights to protect fine detail.
Start near 72 pt for the simpler illustrations; use much larger sizes for the
standing scene. Check the actual printed or exported result at final size.

COMPATIBILITY
These four codes are private-use assignments within BVMatanga. In another font
they may display as boxes, unrelated symbols or nothing. In documents, embed
the font where supported. For final artwork, export PDF with embedded fonts
or convert the symbols to outlines. Test the exported file.
For artwork interchange, use the supplied SVGs when a font is not appropriate.

INSTALLATION
Replace older installed BVMatanga files with version 1.300 and restart your
design application. Install Regular and Bold. Use standard Unicode Kannada
input for text. The special character codes affect only the four illustrations.
